The Summerfest Celebration will feature the final practice and skills session of Prospects Development Camp, an autograph session with the camp's participants and a State of the Hurricanes discussion. The Summerfest Celebration will also include over twenty interactive inflatables, games and experiences, free giveaways, guest speakers from the Hurricanes, appearances by Stormy and the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad, discounted concessions, hockey games and extended hours for The Eye team store.

Parking and admission are free to the general public, and the majority of the event will be held inside PNC Arena, as activities will expand across the first level of the building and more!

The Summerfest Celebration will be the general public's first chance to view available seat locations for the 2014-15 season, which will kick off in October. Fans will have the opportunity to roam the seating bowls and pick out seats for full season ticket packages and 26-game plans.

James Vernon Taylor (born March 12, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. A five-time Grammy Award winner, Taylor was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.^[2]

Taylor achieved his breakthrough in 1970 with the No. 3 single "Fire and Rain" and had his first No. 1 hit the following year with "You've Got a Friend", a recording of Carole King's classic song. His 1976 Greatest Hits album was certifiedDiamond and has sold 12 million US copies. Following his 1977 album, JT, he has retained a large audience over the decades. His commercial achievements declined slightly until a resurgence during the late 1990s and 2000s, when he recorded some of his best-selling and most-awarded work (including Hourglass, October Road and Covers).

He provided a guest voice to The Simpsons episode "Deep Space Homer" where he played some of his songs to Homer, Buzz Aldrin, and Race Bannon when they were in space. He also appeared later on in the series when the family put together a jigsaw puzzle. His face was the missing final piece.

He is mentioned in Taylor Swift's single "Begin Again".
On April 24, 2013 he performed at an outdoor memorial service in Cambridge, MA, honoring slain MIT police officer Sean Collier. Officer Collier was shot on the night of April 18, 2013, allegedly by the perpetrators of the April 15, 2013, Boston Marathon bombing, who were being hunted by police and federal authorities.^[85]
On September 6 and 7, 2013, he performed with the Utah Symphony and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in the Thirtieth Anniversary O.C. Tanner Gift of MusicGala Concert at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.^[86] He called the choir "a national treasure"^[87] In addition to the symphony and choir he was backed by some of his touring band pianist Charles Floyd, bassist Jimmy Johnson and Percussionist Nick Halley.

Paramore and Fall Out Boy have teamed up for what they're calling the "Monumentour," which will take them from coast to coast this summer. Punky Danish rockers New Politics will serve as the opener for the tour, including a handful of dates that will feature only Fall Out Boy

Paramore's most recent video, "Daydreaming," for a track from their 2013 album Paramore, dramatized what it would be like for two lucky fans to fly to England to see one of their concerts. In the clip, the pair sneak backstage for a glimpse of Hayley Williams and co. hanging out in the green room backstage. Paramore have been putting on energetic shows, in which Williams "bounce[s] around stages with an unbridled glee," as Rolling Stone put it.

Meanwhile, Fall Out Boy are apparently enjoying playing together again, after announcing their surprise reunion early last year and putting out a new album, Save Rock and Roll, which contained one of the 100 Best Songs of 2013: "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)."

"We wanted something that was really raw," bassist Pete Wentz told Rolling Stone last year about the album. "We still needed something where people felt the same feelings they had when they first listened to Fall Out Boy, but the music couldn't sound like the same music we'd done before. We've never been a band that plays it safe. We could have probably written 'Sugar, We're Going Down' five times, but we never did."

American reggae band SOJA has been making a name for itself with its fourth studio album, Strength to Survive, which stayed on theBillboard Reggae Album Chart for over 65 weeks. Lead singer and guitarist Jacob Hemphill, who spent his early childhood in Africa (the son of an International Monetary Fund rep in Liberia), met bassist Bobby Lee in his Virginia grade school. Hurricane Arthur affecting 4th of July

Hurricane Arthur will unleash its wrath, gaining strength as it barrels up the East Coast on Friday — spoiling Fourth of July travel plans from North Carolina to New York. The Category 1 hurricane is expected to swirl into a Category 2 — with raging winds up to 105 mph in North Carolina — thwarting vacations down south and causing rough surf at beaches up north, meteorologists said. “It’s going to be nasty for travelers. They may not let people out on the roads in the outer banks in North Carolina,” said AccuWeather senior meteorologist Dave Dombek. By Friday morning, the powerful hurricane will graze Cape Hatteras, NC, churning out 90-mph winds, experts predicted. The storm will roar north then veer east, dealing a less-severe blow to southern New Jersey by Friday afternoon, meteorologists said. New York City will see its worst contact with Arthur’s fringes by 8 p.m., but they will bring winds of only up to 20 mph, experts said. “The biggest thing is going to be the beaches — with dangerous rip currents [and] rough surf,” said Dombek.

A cold front will also bring drizzly weather to the Big Apple on Friday morning and afternoon — but the the weather should clear in time for Macy’s fireworks. “The rain should move away during the late-afternoon hours. After the storm has run its course on Friday night, the holiday weekend in New York will be ideal, Kines predicted. “We’re getting two out of three [nice] days. Friday’s the worst of the three,” he said. Saturday will be clear and sunny with low humidity and a high of 82. Sunday will be mostly sunny with low humidity and a high of 85, according to AccuWeather. Some Independence Day celebrations — including fireworks in Boston and Providence — have been canceled or postponed due to the storm. But in New York City, no major Fourth of July events had been canceled as of Thursday evening. Macy’s 38th Annual fireworks display — which draws crowds of more than 3 million — is scheduled to blast off on the East River at 8 p.m. Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island will go on rain or shine, organizers said.
